I decided to dump 90% of the track of the day posts in exchange for just new music of the day.And I’ll do a track of the day post once in awhile for more classic material like older, unreleased, demo material, etc related songs. The new tracks are great but most of them I don’t hold in high regard enough to be an entire song of the day.Plus their too new to really decide whether or not they have replay value.Plus it got to much like Groundhog Day to me and I can’t commit to do that everyday anymore.Anywho
Here is 2 new tracks from the awesome Sade off her upcoming album The Ultimate Collection. The Ultimate Collection, out May 3rd.
Up first her first ever collaboration with another artist.
Sade -The Moon and the Sky (Remix) Featuring Jay-Z
I dug it it but I think Jay -Z could of written a better verse.Overall all though I like how is voice meshed with hers.
I’m digging this much more then the Jay Z remix.I’m just surprised this wasn’t released on anything else. This is a great track.
Sade – Love Is Found
Sage Francis – Three Sheets to the Wind (Demo) Featuring Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie
This “Three Sheets to the Wind” demo is the first in a long series of demos I hope to release from my LI(F)E album. Anyone who knows the album version will notice that this demo version is much slower than they’re used to. Also the music is less aggressive. While most of the demos have more of a hip hop feel, this one is still on the indie-rock tip. The music is by Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie and the demo was recorded in 2008 in Sage Francis’ home studio. The LI(F)E album is available now on CD, double LP and MP3.” – Sage
Nice follow up top Sage with another emo white dude. This time Slug.New track from Atmosphere off their anticipated Family Sign Lp dropping April 12.
Atmosphere – I Don’t Need Brighter Days
Ben Gibbard Of Death Cab For Cutie – “Where Our Destination Lies”
More Death Cab associated material is always great.
Take a listen to the second tune “Where Our Destination Lies” from Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard off the recently released soundtrack for the film Arthur. Seem’s like Ben and Death Cab have been busy lately, you can check out the previous Arthur track “When The Sun Goes Down” and then check out two new tunes, “You Are A Tourist” and “Home Is A Fire,” from Death Cab For Cutie’s upcoming record Codes and Keys.
