A old friend of mine actually went to school with Janeane Garofalo back in the day in Jersey.I actually had the pleasure of meeting Janeane Garofalo once in the late 90’s.We were coming back from the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Manhattan. And on our way from Queens to Bk we ran into her while she was filming some kind of short for Cinemax or Showtime. It was in June and already really hot. They had her wearing a rain coat.So I know she was hot as hell. She was really down to earth and one of those cases when a person is a lot cuter in person compared to pictures. They had her on a fire escape filming something. We watched for a few minutes and then she came down for make up.We talked to her for a few.Mainly saying whats up.Then she went back to filming on the fire escape. This one cat we were with who was a friend of a friend was trying to hit on her.She wasn’t feeling him though. The part that embarrassed the rest of us was when she was up on the fire escape after talking to us.This dude started yelling up to her and calling her a bag lady.We had no idea what the hell he was talking about. We got the hell out of their after 2 minutes of him yelling that.Apparently I guess Joan Rivers use to call her that when she bashed her on her “E” bullshit Fashion show.I just remember the awkward look on Janeane Garofalos face when we left.Even though it was 4 stories above us I could tell she turned even whiter then she was born looking.Thankfully that was the last time I was forced into a public situation with that dude.I should of gone back and comforted Janeane Garofalo but I was young and very dumb. And also I was unaware of my sexy-mother-fuckerness at that point in my life.Who knows I could be Mr. Janeane Garofalo today:)
“I guess I just prefer to see the dark side of things. The glass is always half empty. And cracked. And I just cut my lip on it. And chipped a tooth.”
“Listening to your tape, I was reminded of this poem. It has the central question: Is it harder to count on someone or to know that you’re being the one counted upon? Anyway, there’s this part that goes: “if equal affection cannot be, then let the more loving one be me.” Have you ever read that one? It’s one of my favorites.”
